The Beach House is a family owned and operated resort run with pride and integrity. We are the last stand of cottages on the water in Mackinaw City. We are 1 mile east of downtown. There are sidewalks and a bike trail to get to town.- #15

These cabins have been fully remodeled between 2019-2020 and have all new paneling, beds, and bathrooms as well as a good sized counter for the kitchen sink. There is also a mini-fridge and microwave, and an ice maker is available for room ice. There is also a hot plate, but bring your own pan! Martin was a fabulous host / property manager, and he will tell you all you need to know. The six beachfront cabins provide a beautiful view of Lake Huron, and the other ten cabins all offer access to the beach. The beach is friendly to leashed dogs too! Cabins are dog friendly, but you must not let your dog on the bedding and need to brush sand off before entering as cabins are carpeted in the main area and sleeping areas. A broom is provided, which came in handy for our feet, but I would recommend a plastic dish pan with water to help assist cleaning dogs' feet. I recommend taking several extra towels for the beach (for both you and the dogs) and take a comforter from home for each bed if your dogs will insist on getting on the beds. If we return next year, we will take a bigger coffeemaker, a bed pad or topper (beds are extra hard), and either a bag of charcoal and fluid for the provided grills OR single-use grills that we found on Amazon. We enjoyed being able to take all of our own food, but there is a wide and well-off-the-road sidewalk that will take you straight into the town for a variety of dining and shopping experiences. Dog-Friendly, outdoor dining was available at the Bridgeview Diner, and there were 10-12 other carry-out places nearby. We walked to the ferry landing (ferry tickets are conveniently available at the office of the cabins), and dogs rode free on the 18-minute ride to Mackinac Island. We also drove the bridge to St. Ignace ($4 each way in 2020). There is a nice, dog-friendly pizza place in St. Ignace called BC's Pizza that serves adult beverages, fabulous salads, and wonderful gourmet pizza. We also checked out Straits State Park for a short hike. I LOVE this location, and next year we would love to return, but to be honest, the remodel raised the prices for 2021 to nearly double (400 is a little steep for beachfront). It was a beautiful place to stay though!
