We were given an upgrade of room which was nice, The rooms were clean. I wish the beach view was better. At the time we stayed there was a big area of wet land between the hotel and beach.

Well for the money it was perfectly acceptable, staff was pleasant, room was clean, no real complaints besides the view from the beach but again it was much cheaper than hotels closer to downtown.

We stayed 1 night, on June 9, 2011. They do not have elevators to take your luggage upstairs, so beware and request a first floor room if you are not capable of lugging stuff upstairs. We did have a beach front view and it was spectacular. Rooms were nice and updated in the not too distant past. My 6 year old son wanted to swim and use the splash pad. Some of the equipment on the splash pad was not working and the hot tub was "broken". We went to the pool, it was nice and warm (it was 52 degrees outside) and the hot tub there was "broken" Breakfast buffet was shared with the hotel next door. Food was good for a typical buffet, but there was plenty and the hot stuff was hot. Excellent value for a reasonable stay and the kids loved the water park and pool!! Overall very good. Grounds well kept and staff very friendly.

We enjoyed our one night stay in Mackinaw City. The Aqua Grand provided a clean, comfortable room at a reasonable rate. Breakfast menu was fine- quite busy, with the need for attentive refilling. Thank you.

It was a perfect inexpensive place to stay with 2 five year-olds. Certainly not a five star hotel but we didn't pay five star rates either. We enjoyed our stay there very much!! No complaints.

We loved the hotel! Room was very clean and had a great view of the lake. Kids loved the water park, although the water was CHILLY! Was great that we could also use the water park at the other hotel (that I can't remember the name of right now). Had a great time, thought it was an exceptional value for the money, and we hope to return!

No complaints, no raves. It would be nice if there were more beach. Breakfast was just all right, crowded. It rained the night before but was a beautiful morning so we dried off our own table and chairs and ate outside, but most guests are too lazy to simply help themselves so they hovered around tables inside waiting for people to leave complaining the whole time. Room was very clean. The price was great!

I wish there was a very good between good and outstanding. That is what I would have chosen. The room was nicely decorated and clean. Both pool areas were also clean. Breakfast was good with a nice variety but going next door and waiting in line for 20 minutes was a little in convinent. Over all out stay was very nice. Thank you.

The rooms were great for the price. The views were beautiful that over looked Lake Huron. It was also nice to walk onto the beach right from the hotel. The water parks are for younger children, but older children will like the pools and the whirlpools.

The hotel was nice and fairly cheap, I was expecting the beach to be alot better and the 25ft breakfeast bar is not the best, the 25 ft is ALOT of counter space :) all in all I would definately stay again.

We had a child with us and the free ticket to Pirate Waterpark was excellent. The breakfast was outstanding due to variety of choices including protein (eggs). I was very delighted, cause I eat eggs every morning. The room was clean, it is an older building.

The price was great as well as the sprinkler park and the pool. It was nice to have access to the Comfort Inn's water park. The only downfall was lack of seating at breakfast. The breakfast was good, so I don't want to make it sound like the whole breakfast was bad. Overall it was a fun stay and a beautiful location on Lake Huron.

The room was clean and the breakfast was nice. The beach was reasonably well maintained. We were forced to cut our trip short due to a family emergency and they were very accomodating. we WILL definitely go back to the aqua grand next year.

The room was great. The view was awesome. The little waterpark was cool. The only bad was the pool was closed due to heater problems so we did not get to swim or use the jucuzzi. Price wasn't to bad for a beach hotel.

When I arrived at our hotel my reservation was no where to be found. They did upgrade our stay, but it was frustrating to go through the process of making a reservation and showing up and not knowing what was going on.

Wonderful hotel w/a good view of Lake Huron and Mackinac Island. Waterpark/Splashpad was great, especially if you have children. It can keep them entertained for hours. The pricing of the hotel room was very reasonable, and the rooms were very neat and clean, which is a BIG plus in my book. We will definitely stay here again.

My grandsons LOVED being on the beach and having the seagulls right outside the doors waiting to be fed. They were happy the pool was so close to our room but didn't think the 'waterpark' was for their age groups (14 & 10).

The staff was very friendly and helpful.I stopped in the office a few times to ask questions and directions and was very pleased with the service I received. Also I was very impressed with the honesty of the housekeeping person that took care of our room. I emptied my pocket on the bathroom counter, not realizing there were some dollar bills mixed in. The money remained there all week. Overall we were very pleased and will stay at the Aqua Grand the next time we come to Mackinaw City. Thank you.

We enjoyed our stay at the Aqua Grand. It was clean and the maid service did an excellent job of cleaning and refreshing our room. Desk personnel were friendly and helpful and curteous. Our only regret is that our stay was too short.

The view from the room was spectacular, couldn't ask for anything better. Between the beach and the water park my childen were very entertained.

We arrived very late (1:30 a.m.) and there was no parking left. We were given permission to use the 1 handicapped spot left. Possibly have a few extra parking stalls. Other than that, we really enjoyed our brief stay. Out 8 year old Granddaughter was with us, and she really enjoyed the water park. We are planning on returning with her again and staying an extra day this year. I don't think you can have a bad time while visiting Mackinaw.

The parking lots was way too small, twice we had to park at another hotel and walk to our car. The spray park was a bit of a disappointment, was mislead of what it was(more for toddlers). We also had some special guest visitors while using the hot tub...4 teenage boys mentioned they just hop around from hotel to hotel using the hot tubs and waterpark. Also, the waterpark...down the street, was a bit "babyish" for my 7 & 9 year old boys. Our room was very clean and spacious. The breakfast was fabulous and well worth the stay, but a bit confusing on what building to go to, since its combined with the hotel next door. Never did make it to the beach, but would definitely stay there again...the price on-line was a great deal.

Overall the Hotel was a good deal for the money on Thursday night. We couldn't stay there the other nights as the rate nearly doubled over the Labor Day weekend.

loved the water park area staff was friendly The rooms were average not the claenest or nicest but ok parking was rediculous though there really should be assigned parking spaces you never wanted to leave the motel because when you returned you had no place to park because your spot was taken and this motel was a little too far away from town to walk especially with small children

We were disappointed in the waterpark, but we did get tickets to a bigger indoor waterpark. The time of year we went, we were not able to use the beach, so we missed out on that. Over all the place seemed a little dated, but for the price and waterpark packages it was fine.

We have a large family, 2 adults, 5 children...but they were able to accommodate us in one large double queen with an extra cot. Very willing to provide extra linens and were very helpful in finding the water park. We also loved the beach in back of the hotel and they were very friendly about letting the children play there even after we had checked out in the morning. We'll be going back again! Thanks for the opportunity to give this review.

The Beach was Nicer than the Hotels to the South of the Aqua Grand, It was with-in walking distance to all the sights, My son Did enjoy the Water-works. But We did have a hard time with NOT having an elevator, But now we know for Future visits!

It was a nice room. It was good to be on the water side of the Inn.The microwave and sm. refrigerator really came in handy. The room was fairly clean. I was a little disappointed about the lack of information from the front desk concerning the wristbands for the waterpark at the other hotel...I believe it was called Pirates Cove or something like that We were never informed that the wristbands were only valid for the day we checked in , so my children were unable to use them. When they are disappointed I am also.

The room was nice with a great view, but honestly only slept there. The breakfast was nice, really liked the waffles.The staff was friendly and the pool/hottub was nice. The water park pass for our child was awesome, she loved it. We spent 2 days there 1 on the Island and had good weather. The only thing that could have been better was if it was cheaper, but it was fairly priced and we all loved every minute. I love how friendly everyone is in Mackinaw, thank you.

The rooms were a little old and outdated, but the lake view was fabulous! The splash park was small but lots of fun, and the hot tub was great--it was right in the splash park so you could relax in the hot tub and watch the kids play. We didn't end up using the bigger pool, but it was nice to have that option. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

The rates were very reasonable. Great area, very quiet. Loved the indoor water park and also thought it was very nice to get complimentary tickets to another water park in the area. Room was very clean, no issue what so ever. Will definitely be going back.

Everything was as was advertised and then some. The staff was very courteous. The restraunt was very good. The free breakfast hit the spot. This was only the third time we have visited Mackinac Island in the last 25 years and each time we have stayed at this motel. We have recommended this place to our friends.

I can't say enough great things about this hotel. The location was awesome! The service was outstanding. Carrianne at the front desk helped us with all our needs and even baby-sat my son's stuffed animal. We stayed in an Executive suite and it worked perfectly for us. We were in one side and our family was in the other. The bathroom and Kitchenette were right in the middle. We had a balcony and even a hair dryer. We will defiantly stay here the next time we visit Mackinaw City. If you are going to the casino don't forget to get a voucher for the toll, we didn't read about that till it was too late!
