It was wonderful being on the beach and that was a definite bonus that deemed the 'good' rating. That being said, the rooms were well used but clean with a comfortable bed; the balconies were not private in any way but at least we had one that 3 people could sit on and enjoy an evening drink; and the internet did not reach our hotel room. All for a post labour day price of $69. Not bad.

We have stayed there several times in the past years as we've brought exchange students who can see the Bridge and the Island firsthand. They have good rates and good services, so we keep coming back.

The room was ready and looked very clean. In fact when we checked out we left 2 articles behind and they called us with in a hour to notifiy us and we were able to retreve the items. I was a little disappointed by the rates if we were to stay a third night. The rate was more than the 2 previous nights. I would of thought that I would have some type of discount for staying 3 nights.

It was very good value for the price. The reason we didn't stay longer was the dramatic price jump for the weekend, more than double the price.

Customer Service good...explanation on the parking situation wasn't real understandable...didn't know there was another parking lot on the other side of the building. Thought that should be mentioned when checking in. Room clean, although a little dated. Beach front was nice and clean. The only part (which I know nothing can be done about it) was the fact that the balconies connected to each other. I didn't like that as who knows what is next door to you and do you leave the balcony door open? Pool area needs some attention...ceiling broken items that could easily be fixed. All and All...a nice place.

Overall a good experience. The lakeside room was great as well as the jucuzzi. The only thing we weren't satisfied with was the breakfast. Very limited choices and WAY TOO CROWDED. The breakfast room is way too small to accomodate all the guests.

The room was comfortable and nice. The breakfast area, however, was very small and cramped. The food selection was adequate but there were just not enough places to sit and eat. The noise of the TV monopolized the room.

I loved the location - right on the beach!!! The gentleman at the desk was not terribly helpful when asked where the Arnold docks were. "Down that wasy" was as much as we got, even probing further. The room was neat and clean and we felt safe - those are the important 3 when traveling!

The view was great and the beach was spectacular, plus the walking distance to all of the downtown attractions is a huge bonus. The room was clean, and the service good. For the price it can't be beat!

Staff friendly....beds comfortable ...linen clean...beach area nice...need to check inform guests that they have two floors and NO elevators....so many steps just to get to the second floor. We couldn't attend the continental breakfast because it was pouring rain. Parking is very limited to guests because people were driving over to use the beach area and not staying at the hotel.

Loved the beach front setting; only problem we had was with the people feeding seagulls off their balcony. Made it so noisy we had to give up our nice reading time on the beach. Only spent one night there; hope to spend more time in Mackinaw City the next time we head east.

The hotel was older but had clean rooms with a fairly good breakfast. We didn't try the internet service. The air conditioner worked but not great. Two of the indoor water parks were within reasonable walking distance. The third water park was more of driving distance. The beach was nice.

Expected beachfront. Its not a walkout room, but it was nice. Staff was fantastic. Breakfast buffet was not exactly what was advertised. Basically, a continental breakfast.

This motel was very nice. The staff was friendly and we enjoyed our stay there. The only bad thing was we didn't have sufficient towels until later in the evening. Nice place to stay.

The rooms were clean, but nothing spectacular about the hotel. The pool restroom was poorly maintained. The beach front was a wonderful ammenity. Our room wasn't cleaned until after 5:00 p.m. during our stay. The hotel was convenient for island and city travel. There wasn't anything impressive, but nothing to really complain about either. We enjoyed our stay.

Room was adequate--a bit outdated, but quiet and clean. Internet WiFi was very weak--ended up using the signal from the Comfort Inn next door. Enjoyed being so close to the beach and convenient to walking to shops and restaurants.

It served it's purpose. The room was picked up but it wasn't the nicest hotel I've ever stayed at. For the money it was worth the little time that we actually spent in the room. I would, however, stay there again. It was in a nice location and like I said before, it definitely served it's purpose.

PROS: Beautiful view. Yummy breakfast. Close to shopping, things to do, restaurants, and the ferry. CONS: Room needs to be updated. Not enough seating at breakfast & layout isn't functional (add another 1-2 waffle makers and move them away from the door).

Our accommodations were great! The rooms were very cleaned & spruced up for us each day. We enjoyed the breakfast & swimming. There was a young man working the desk that did not explain anything about our stay & we had to ask questions about our additional package we purchased. He handed up a book & said "here is some information". Overall, we had a great time & look forward to coming back with our family.

The service was good, especially the house cleaning. The breakfast area was very small (24 maximum) for so many rooms. We ended p eating out for breakfast on all but the first day. The pool and sauna was very good and usually very uncrowded.

My husband and I had no complaints! It was clean, the bed was comfortable, right on the beach! I do want to add positive comments for the young woman who keeps the complimentary breakfast stocked. We stayed two nights. The first morning, the breakfast area was really crowded, but no one ever had to wait for anything. As soon as someone left a table, she was quickly to the table to clean it off for another patron.

The room was on the first floor as opposed to the second floor where we've stayed before, thus it seemed a bit darker. But otherwise the service at the desk was good and the breakfast we had on each of the two days we stayed was good.

I would stay at the Super 8 again. It has an awesome location. Everything is in walking distance. The only problem we had was that the hot tub was not actually hot. We were told that they were going to fix it, but we were too tired and went to sleep. We only stayed for one night. For the cost it was perfect. Fine breakfast and clean room.

Yes, the hotel is a little dated, however, you can not beat the view from the beachfront rooms or its close proximity to town, the beach, and other points of interest. The breakfast buffet has juices, coffee, milk, waffles, basic breads and cereals. For something to get you going on the start of your day it's great and included in your stay. If you are going to stay I would recommend the lakeview rooms as they do have a great view of the lake. Never got a chance to try the pool or hottub, but we were just looking for a basic place to stay while site seeing in Mackinaw City and for that it is great and at least our rate was reasonably priced.

We had very nice people checking us in. We were a little off season--they had just opened. Our assigned room had water on the floor in the bathroom--not dirty--it obviously was a very clean room. But we were concerned that it might be a leak of some kind. We went back to the office and they immediately gave us a beautiful lakefront large room at no extra charge! It was lovely! After an 8 hour drive it was very relaxing and very close to the ferry to Mackinaw Island--just walked on the sand! How wonderful after a long cold winter and spring! Would love to come back and stay longer.

Although I reserved on line at the Super 8, we were upgraded to the Hamilton Inn. The hotel was very nice, clean rooms, great breakfast bar and perfect location. We enjoyed our stay, had a great time at the Winterfest, and enjoyed a terrific dinner at the Irish pub. We would recommend this hotel to friends.

Our arrival the first time, on or about Sept. 13, we had no difficulty finding the Super 8 Beachfront. Our check-in went very well, and we were very pleased with our room, and the very good breakfast we enjoyed the next morning. We were on our way to Winnipeg to visit family and would return about ten days later. We had no hesitation in booking this same hotel for our return trip.
