The people working there were great and super friendly. My only complaint and it’s minor is that there was a very poor attempt to give some sort of breakfast. A bag with an apple, granola bar and bottle of water because of “COVID”. It would have been better to not give anything, if they were so concerned. Room was great for the price. Room was clean, flat screen tv, refrigerator, nice updated bathroom. Beautiful view of the lake and Mackinac bridge as well as the Hotels own private beach. Definitely the nicest room I've ever stayed in for $100/night. The "indoor waterpark" was kind of a joke. Decent pool. But the waterpark was a few really small slides. Plenty of entertainment for a toddler, but our 9 year old girls weren't super impressed. They have 2 big slides that were probably really fun, but they keep them shut down permanently bc the owner says liability insurance is 2 expensive to have them operational. The arcade is also pretty much broken down. Change machine out of order. Only machine that worked was a stuffed animal claw machine. They have a couple nice pool tables in there, a nice fooseball table, a nice air hockey table, and a really cool two short lane bowling setup and the arcade has a wall of windows overlooking the waterpark. Problem is, none of it works. If they put the time and money into fixing that arcade and making the waterpark a little more impressive it would have been rated 5 stars. However if you stayed in the summer when the lake was warm enough to enjoy - you wouldn't care about the waterpark or arcade. Beautiful beach with firepits for the guests to use. The staff was very pleasant. The one thing I would change is that the mini fridge sat on the floor with the microwave on top. It should really be sitting on a stand. It very hard (especially with back problems) to bend all the with down to the floor and get something in or out of the fridge. Granted every staff member that I came into contact with during my stay were helpful hard working, courteous yet I can't neglect to express a few disappointments. The room cleanliness. There was visible dirt and dust on the floors, particularly the restroom and shower as well as the drapes. The swim area I feel wasn't sanitary. Again visible dirt ringing the pool and hot tub, by the way was freezing. The waterslide being out of order was disappointing for the kid's. But for being a newer hotel I was surprised to see damage to our room. We had a queen suite over looking the water (beautiful) but our bathroom floor and sink were both cracked. The bed skirts on both beds were damaged and frayed. The breakfast was a bottle of water and a granola bar with coffee. Their water park was closed for the season in September. Hotel and room was great. Beautiful views and loved the beach area. Only issue was all the broken down things, the water slides, and the pool table, bowling game, and air hockey in the game room! Hopefully the repairs will be done once they can build up the money they probably have lost during the past year and a half because of the pandemic!
