Did you find this helpful?|The room was nice except I didn't like that our room was carpeted, because it doesn't feel clean. Housekeeping was not on top of things. We asked for a vacuum the 2nd day of our stay because our kids had dropped crumbs on the floor. We had to call several times and didn't get on until the end of the day, and the housekeeper had us vacuum while she was cleaning another room. We needed a plunger and had to call twice for that as well, not getting one until the next day. The pool's ph level was not balanced because all of our eyes were burning from the chlorine. Then some guy was allowed to bring a glass bottle into the pool area and dropped it, and it shattered on the edge of the pool so it was closed. We were not told by hot staff that we could go to the Hamilton hotel's pool until we thought to ask the next day. A lot of things we had to ask throughout our trip instead of being given that information at check-in or in the binder in the room. I was also disappointed that we didn't even get a bagged breakfast because of covid. I had to spend $50 at a buffet for my family of 5 WITH coupons provided by the hotel. We should have been told breakfast would not be provided when I booked it, because the website mentioned complimentary breakfast and that was an unexpected expense. The wifi did not work in our room in 310a but worked in our in-law's room on the other end. So I had no internet use all weekend in my room. The positives: the room was overall cute and comfy besides the carpeting. It's nice not have to walk through a lobby to get to your room. The location is perfect. The pool and hot tub are nice and big. It's nice you can use the surrounding hotels pool and workout rooms.These comments are from a verified stay10 people found this helpful. Cabins Of MackinacCabins of Mackinac Debbie from Battle Creek stayed in October 2020The cabins were very cute and nicely set up. The house keeping was a little under par. We found hair in the tub and on the walls of the tub and sink. Around the fan in the shower was dirty. Could be a lot cleaner! The beds were not the comfortable and the blankets could have been thicker as it was very cold. 🥶 We called for thicker blankets which took sometime to receive. Had to cross the way to get clean towels and facecloths. In the four days the beds were never made and the garbage never emptied. I’m sure they would have if we’d asked. There was a drunk lady howling for her cigarettes at 2:00 am (not the hotels fault) and she disturbed more than us I’m sure! We were pleasantly surprised with how nice the cabin was. This property is obviously in need of a paint job but it’s also obvious that repairs and improvements are being made. The beds were extremely comfortable and the cabin itself was clean. We were there during 30 degree nights and the heater in the living room did a great job heating the whole cabin. The cabins were quiet while we were there in October at the end of season. The only complaint I had was the sofa in the living room looked and felt like it was from the 90s and had been well loved, I’m happy we didn’t have to use it for a bed. Only suggestions would be is that cabins need to be much better marked with numbers on them!! Very very difficult to see cabin number if you arrive after dark. Cabins Of MackinacCabins of Mackinac Stephen from Point Pleasant Boro stayed in September 2020Great lodging option. In this time of disinfecting there was no compliance. We had an issue with hot water & a staff member immediately came to resolve, however he took a dinning chair to use as a ladder, stood at the kitchen sink area with shoes on, resolved issue & left. Never a thought to cleaning procedures, indicating to me it is Not compliant. Also shampoo & conditioner obviously had been used & were left for us to also use, set up in bathroom for our use. Did you find this helpful?|We arrived early and thankfully they were able to let us check in at 1pm instead of 4pm. The only issue we had is that the cleaning service needs to be more thorough. The bigger room had a small table with a drawer where the tv sat and there was trash in the drawer from previous guests. Also, our bathroom wasn't most clean intentionally. We informed front desk that the bathroom hadn't been cleaned 100% and they quickly got someone over to clean it very well. As a suggestion to them, a channel list would have been great. One day because of rain we spent more time in our cabin. The 6yr old kept flipping to find channels they had which some they didn't have. Another suggestion to help improve is to give thier older cabins some TLC. There was chipped paint on some of the cabins, not all decks had tables and chairs, and there was alot of webs on the outside. Only thought was staff didn’t have all answers to certain questions.
