Front desk personnel were efficient and business-like. Rates seemed high, but I suppose it's like that in all nicer hotels in Mackinaw in the summer. We had a small 4th-floor balcony which we enjoyed. It was awesome to be able to have the window/door open at night for ventilation since it was cool outside. Very nice beach and lounge chairs. Breakfast bar was good, and was kept well-stocked. We were there during a cooler week, but the temperature in the breakfast room was uncomfortably warm. I was given permission to park in a "no parking" zone because there were no more parking spots when we checked in late at night. However, the fact that we were given a large suite for the price of a smaller room, made up for the parking issue! Great place to stay. The Dockside was absolutely beautiful...they gave us a jacuzzi room, right on the beach...it was wonderful to listen to the water breaking on the beach at night. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but I wish the breakfast would have offered more, and there wasn't much seating to eat in.
