They made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The room was very comfortable overall. The room, though, seemed to be in need of some minor repairs: The sliding screen door to the balcony was not operating correctly (came off track easily and would 'stick') and the hair dryer was missing a button (though it operated just fine). Otherwise, I would definitely stay at the hotel again! Rooms were clean, and nicely decorated. Traveling with 90 yr old so room request close to entrance doors, etc was honored. Due to our short stay each night we didn't experience breakfast, pool, or have much staff interaction so my rating is GOOD. I continue to rank the Hamilton Inn as the best in Mackinaw City. During the off-season, the Hamilton Inn is one of only two hotels that are open. I was unable to connect to Google in my room, however the small business area allowed me the use of the internet. Breakfast still needs to be upgraded and improved. Second night I was kept awake by rain pounding on something metallic. Heating unit is loud, however heat level was comfortable. Major snow storm hit the last evening I stayed. No noticeable attempt on the part of the staff to plow the parking area. More restaurant selections are needed in the evening or basic sandwiches could be offered for sale in the breakfast area during the off season.These comments are from a verified stay
